Abstract

In recent years, RISC-V ISA started experiencing a rapid adoption in different industrial domains. RISC-V notably offers the advantages of open licensing, and availability of open-source implementations and development frameworks. RISC-V may represent a viable option for the aerospace and defense domain, addressing some of the specific requirements of custom avionic SoCs. This presentation will focus on the lessons learnt and the limitations related to the use of an open RISC-V design ecosystem when targeting aerospace applications.
