This short presentation outlines the current research activities in the area of embedded systems at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (DIETI), University of Naples Federico II.
In particular, the presentation will cover aspects related with the analysis, the development, and the evaluation of industrial systems based on IoT, AI, digital analytics, and digital twin technologies; techniques for data-driven anomaly detection and real-time monitoring, simulation, and health diagnosis of modeled physical environments; advanced computing technologies including open-source processor architectures, dedicated hardware acceleration, security-oriented architectures, as well as technological opportunities for high-performance computing brought by the emerging paradigm of Quantum Computing.
