Abstract

Embedded Software development is traditionally linked to Hardware Platform availability.

Embedded Systems are very often based on custom hardware, typically implemented on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs): that means that the Hardware Platform evolves during System Design and Development and that relying on the availability of consolidated Hardware is impractical from a Project Schedule point of view.

The Virtual Platform approach solves this problems allowing Embedded Software Development to take place even when the Hardware Platform is at early stages.

In this presentation ELT shares its original way to approach Virtual Platform based development.
